organizational facilitation/consulting

I have a deep passion for working with groups.  My strengths lie in bringing forth the wisdom of the group, facilitating connection, and supporting emergent processes around whatever purpose is at hand. I also focus on bringing in different parts of individual and collective bodies in ways that are appropriate to the group and moment (for example, bringing in physical movement or creative practices). I began doing group facilitation, group training, and supporting group processes 20 years ago, and have worked with a wide variety of groups and organizations since then.

Please reach out to me regarding contract work with organizations, or if you have a self organized group you would be interested in having me work with. Below is a little more about both kinds of work.

Organization Contract work:

I work with organizations to support clarity, move through conflict, deepen work, and/or increase sustainability and integrity. Some examples of things I am available for are:

  • Organizational development
  • Strategic Planning
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Group processing
  • Collective decision making
  • Accountability process facilitation and consultation
  • Work with white folks around racial justice
  • Meeting facilitation

Self-organized groups:

By self-organized group, I mean groups that have come together to work on something together but are not a formal organization with a budget and payroll etc. In the past, I have worked with self-organized groups around a particular topic or theme, or supported in various aspects of group process. I have curriculum that I have developed around shifting patterns of whiteness and white supremacy that I can bring in when relevant and desired.

Training and Experience:

I have learned the most about facilitation experientially both from watching and learning from experienced facilitators, and through my own work and practice in many different settings. My facilitation work has ranged anywhere from a multi-year racial equity project with housing inspectors at the City of Minneapolis to spontaneous on-the-ground street medic meetings.

My more structured training includes years of attending Pedagogy of the Oppressed and Theater of the Oppressed workshops, and participating in various trainings including ones through Training for Change, Generative Somatics, and Emergent Strategy work. Pedagogy and Theater of the Oppressed in particular are frameworks that have deeply informed my work, and include tools and techniques that I use frequently. Additionally, my work is influenced by ongoing learning through Turtle Cypher (previously known as Turtle Tank). I also bring my skills learned in Somatic Experiencing and other healing modalities to my group facilitation.

Please contact me if you wish to see a list of past clients or for more specifics about my past training and experience.
